Company Background

ICE-TECH was conceived from a basic concept.

In sunglasses;it’s the best in Frames, Lens Technology and Image.

Frames, it’s about style and comfortable fit.

Lens Technology, its about reducing the glare and making your eyes comfortable in all intense light conditions.

Image, it’s about the image of our heroes on the track, the court, and the silver screen. It is the sunglasses that they are wearing that drives the retail market place.

ICE-TECH embodies these three principles. We have designed products that take advantage of the emerging sunglass technologies, introduced these products when the acceptance level of the discriminating consumer has peaked, and coupled them with the celebrity influence of top International Racing Driver endorsements. ICE-TECH Sunglasses are worn by many top names in the Motors Sports and entertainment arena. Other sunglass companies have spokesmen and women who wear their products for a fee. ICE-TECH’s endorsements come from celebrities that contribute to all aspects of the company’s business. This means that, not only do our spokespeople wear, test, assist in the designs of, and heavily promote our products, they have invested in the company as well. ICE-TECH is high octane consumer excitement!!

Features of ICE-TECH Sunglasses

ICE-TECH offers many technological advantages over it’s competition. These differences are best explained as frame features and lens features.

Frame Features:

ICE-TECH Sunglasses are made of materials. All surfaces are non-allergeric. Most metal frames are made from a special flexible alloy base metal. A limited number of frames are made of Titanium, a space age metal. Titanium is used for it’s light weight and non-corrosive properties.

The metal components are laser welded together for maximum fusion and then electroplated with several layers of anti-corrosive palladium, 23 karat gold, or other new non nickel bearing finishes.

ICE-TECH composite nylon frames incorporate a graphite additive that enhances the comfort of the frame while still maintaining it’s almost indestructible properties. Other plastic materials are sometimes used such as handmade zyl to get beautiful colors or no color at all.

ICE-TECH’s "Dual Pad" nose pads have a rigid based encased with a softer silicon outer coating for maximum comfort. These nose pads also have an embedded logo signifying that these sunglasses have the most comfortable and durable soft vinyl pads available.

Lens Features:

All ICE-TECH Sunglasses offer 100% UV protection from the harmful rays of the sun.

All ICE-TECH Sunglasses block blue light, the short wave length light that can cause blurred vision and even some degenerative diseases of the eye.

All ICE-TECH Sunglasses are polarized. Non-polarized sunglasses cannot filter the most intense rays of the sun known as glare. The enhanced ICE-TECH Advanced Polarizing Filter eliminates up to 99% of all reflected glare producing the most comfortable sun lens available today.

The ADVANCED POLARIZED PRECISION-TECH LENS is the only lens that features 12 specific elements that combined offer the most advanced and comfortable sun lens available on the market today.

The TECH-LITE LENS offers the same advanced polarized technology as the PRECISION-TECH LENS but is a much lighter, optically correct polycarbonate lens material. The TECH-LITE LENS is virtually shatterproof making it ideal for use while engaged in active sports.

Both the PRECISION-TECH LENS and the TECH-LITE LENS are available in several fashionable flash mirrored coatings. These specially designed coating are functional as well, eliminating eye dryness by reflecting infra-red light.

Technical Information

What is Polarization?

A sun lens that is not polarized does little more dim the light available to the unprotected eye. What the eye can not do is eliminate reflective glare.

When light reflects off a horizontal surface it’s polar axis becomes aligned with that surface, thus the term "Polarized". Polarized light, better known as glare, is 7 to 10 times brighter than ambient light and can be as much as 65% of the light you see.

The human eye tries to adjust to glare by restricting the pupil in an effort to reduce the amount of light coming in over all. However, the eye requires a minimum amount of light to focus so the eye must allow in some light, and therefore some glare, to see. The result is squinting, tired eyes, headaches, and, in general, poor vision.

A polarized lens is more accurately a lens with an integrated filter that eliminates polarized light. The polarized filter is made up of vertical, parallel chains of iodine crystals that essentially block horizontally polarized light. The remaining light falls into a narrow range of intensity that the eye can handle very easily.

What we can’t see can hurt us!

Even though we can’t see it, Ultra Violet light, or UV as it is often called, is of concern because of its long term damaging effects on the eye -- the greatest concern is cataracts. We can protect our eyes and prolong good eye health with a 100% UV filter.

Infra-Red Light, also invisible, can have a drying effect on the eyes. Infra-Red light is heat that is completely reflected with a mirrored lens.

Bounce Back Light:

Mirror coatings reflect light on both sides. Even though there is very little light between the eye and the lens to reflect, some light will actually bounce between the retina of the eye and mirror coating of the lens causing a "halo" effect around bright lights. Anti-reflective coatings applied to the back of the lens eliminate bounce back and also will reduce the amount of reflected light that escapes in from around the edge of the lens.

Lens colors can further enhance vision:

As a rule, a neutral gray lens is the best suited for most people. Over 65% of all sun lenses sold are gray. This is because a gray lens translates colors the most naturally.

Amber or brown lens are less popular but can actually enhance mid range colors resulting in greater contrast and depth perception. Vision during sports events such as fishing and skiing may be improved with an amber lens. However, some people have difficulty with lens that alter color, experiencing a vertigo effect or headaches.

Warranty and Repairs

All ICE-TECH Sunglasses come with a Limited one-year warranty against manufacturer’s defects.

Enclosed with ICE-TECH Sunglasses is a warranty card outlining the terms of our warranty. The customer is instructed to complete the warranty card and mail it to the ICE-TECH address on the card.

Once registered, if an ICE-TECH Sunglasses component ever fails for any reason, the owner can again call the toll free number to request a Warranty and Repair Pack. ICE-TECH will send the consumer a Warranty & Repair Pack, which includes all the necessary shipping materials, warranty questionnaire, and repair schedule.

The questionnaire asks what the problem is (not always apparent) and if the problem is not found to be caused by a manufacturer’s defect, would they want the repairs made per an enclosed repair schedule.

Once the sunglasses are received, ICE-TECH will make a determination as to the cause of failure. If the failure is determined to be covered by the ICE-TECH warranty, ICE-TECH will repair or replace as required.

ICE-TECH Sunglasses not pre-registered will require a receipt to verify date of purchase. If ICE-TECH is not able to ascertain the date of purchase, a fair assessment based on the overall condition of the sunglasses will be made. ICE-TECH sunglasses will be returned to the consumer

All Sunglasses must be returned in the Warranty & Repair Pack that ICE TECH provides. All Sunglasses sent in for repairs without proper packaging will be refused and returned to sender.

Estimates of the charges for repair of components not covered under warranty will be provided if requested.
